Declarations of Interest


Public Forum

There were 4 members of the public present. There was a statement from the floor that the proposed caravan storage site at High Kernock offered poor access for caravans arriving for storage. However it was pointed out from the floor that the existing site for caravans had posed no problems.


The Minutes of 15th July and 24th August 2015 Council meeting were accepted unanimously.

Matters Arising

  1. Neighbourhood plan:
    In the absence of support it was decided not to form a group to formulate a plan.
  2. Damage caused by Contractors of solar farm:
    County Councillor D. Pugh assured the Council that Cornwall Council held a bond and that the road sign would be repaired by the year end.
  3. Road repairs at Pillaton Mill:
    County Councillor D. Pugh informed the Council that the work to repair the road at Tiddlers Well was scheduled by Cormac for November 2015.
  4. Damage to Clapper bridge:
    It was pointed out to County Councillor D. Pugh that although the bridge had been repaired there were no bollards in place to restrict wide traffic. Also the Council asked for warning signs advising of the width restriction.
  5. Cycle route Callington to Saltash:
    Councillor Harris had not yet attended the meeting regarding creating the route which was now being held in September.

Planning Permission

  1. The Council approved the planning application for caravan storage at High Kernock by a majority, subject to Cornwall Highways having no objection.
  2. The Council decided to approach Cornwall Council for a grant to purchase a lap top and projector to show details of planning applications received electronically.


The Council approved payments of £159.99 for garden maintenance at the field and £15 for a remembrance day wreath.

The Bank position of current account £435 and deposit £1,642 was noted.

Any Other Business

The Council agreed to provide a letter of support for the planned purchase of the freehold of the playing field.

The Chair reported that he was discussing the possibility of Pillaton being able to use a local Hoppa bus service.

Concern was expressed by the Council regarding traffic congestion at a hotel planned at Carkeel.
