Declarations of Interest

Cllrs Hoskin, Dolley, S. Floyd, Edwards and Martin declared a personal interest in payments in respect of the Village Hall improvements.

Public Forum

There was no member of the public present.


The Minutes of 16th November 2011 meeting were accepted unanimously.

Matters Arising

The Chairman reported that he had met with District Councillor Egglestone, St Mellion Chair and Cornwall Highways regarding the maintenance of Mushton lane. The result was that Cornwall Highways agreed that maintenance was required but no funds for the work existed. The Parish Council agreed that Pillaton and St Mellion Council taxes should not be raised to cover costs of repair.

The Chairman thanked Cllr Martin for materials to repair the train and Kevin Horsham and Ray Crocker for reinstating the train at the play park.

Cllr D. Floyd reported that the salt bin at Pillaton Mill had been refilled.

Village Hall Improvements

The Chairman explained that concerns continued regarding the resurfacing of the entrance area to the Hall and the builders had promised to remedy the faults. The successful planting of the trees and shrubs was recorded.

The Council approved payments of £240 and £1,800 to MOR, £1,850 to Twinways and £588 to KPP from the grants received for the project.

Planning Permission

The Council issued an apology to Mr and Mrs Clarke regarding confusion over a planning application at Polborder Cottage.

New Notice Board

The Council supported a proposal to purchase a new notice board for the Village and Cllr Edwards volunteered to select the most appropriate board.


The Bank position of Current account £3,566 and deposit account £4,502 was noted.

The following payments were approved:
£450 for grass cutting and £989.76 for fencing.

The Council approved a precept for 2012 to 2013 of £3,170.
