Pillaton WI Report - December 2011

It’s the same formula every year, yet every year it still feels as fresh as if it was the first one! The WI Christmas Party – familiar faces, familiar setting and always a wonderful dinner cooked by Shirley Floyd.

Welcomed as we came into the Village Hall with a glass of mulled wine, the aroma of Christmas spices wafting into the entrance foyer, we milled around chatting to friends in anticipation of the feast to follow. Festive tables set with Christmas crackers, party poppers and balloons carried the promise of fun.

Of course we all ate too much and of course we found room for “seconds” of the puds. Those of us who were fortunate enough to live within walking distance of the Village Hall could indulge in wine with dinner and so we did!

The meal over, Secret Santa’s gifts were distributed and unwrapped, all declaring themselves pleased with their presents.

We dispersed into the wet and windy night outside, warmed by the glow of a lovely Christmas evening with good company and good food and looking forward to meeting again in the New Year.

Pillaton WI is a friendly group and welcomes new members. Come along and meet us! If you would like to know more about Pillaton WI, please contact me on 351289.
