Message Regarding Traffic Congestion - 20 June 2011
We have just received this message from Richard Harnett regarding local traffic congestion.
I understand that the traffic hold-ups that have occurred at our entrance over the last few weeks have been attributed to Kernock Park Plants. There are rumours that there will be a piece in the Pillaton News about this.
While we may sometimes be the culprit on these occasions it was due to the traffic entering the solar farm on Howton land. As you are aware, they have a tight schedule to complete the 'farm' before the Government current deal ends. I think this has meant panic deliveries. I know John Moss has directed the lorries to come in via Amy Tree but many have followed the Sat Nav and entered via Hatt, which has made it impossible for them to turn into the 'Farm' entrance by Orchard Cottage. KPP have tried to ease the problem by allowing the 'beached' vehicles to come into the Nursery and turn around to enter from the north side and this may be why we are seen as the culprits.
I believe this project will have completed the large deliveries in the next week or so but no doubt John Moss will be better informed about this.
As far as KPP is concerned, we request our deliveries to come in via Amy Tree so avoiding Vallards Lane. We try to get them here outside the 'Rush Hour' periods whenever possible. If individuals have any concerns please let us know.
