Pillaton Parish Council Meeting Minutes - May 2011

Meeting held on 18/05/2011

Attendance

Cllrs. Dolley, Hoskin, Edwards, D. Floyd, S. Floyd, Martin, Harris and District Councillor Egglestone.

Apologies

None

Declarations of Interest

Cllr Martin declared a personal interest regarding the fence and Cllrs Floyd declared a prejudicial interest in planning.

Public Forum

There was one member of the public present.

Minutes

The Minutes of 13th April 2011 meeting were accepted unanimously.

Matters Arising

The Chairman explained that the grant for the improvements to the Hall and play park had been revised in as much as some items could be purchased locally. The decision on a mural was awaited.

Cllr Edwards kindly offered to level a space for the salt bin.

Thanks were recorded to Cllr Martin for arranging free of charge the installation of a fence behind the goal posts and the Clerk was asked to write thanking the suppliers. The Council agreed that the fence should be extended and Cllrs Dolley and Edwards volunteered to carry out the work on a temporary basis. Cllr Martin agreed to discover the cost of extending the fence on a permanent basis.

Mary Moon Close

Pillaton Council could not accept responsibility for the road condition and noted that despite Cornwall Highways promise of repairs to Mary Moon Close road surface no action had been taken. The Clerk was asked to enquire into the delay pointing out the problems with the movement of disabled people. The Clerk was also asked to request a drop kerb.

Planning Permission

Cllrs D. Floyd and S. Floyd left the meeting.

The Council approved the following application;

  • Rick Park farm, alterations to extension.

Finance

The Bank position of Current account £400 and deposit account £2,484 was noted.

The following payments were approved;

  • Village Hall rental £36,
  • MOR consultancy fee £1,822.88 (via a grant),
  • audit £25,
  • salt £164.64 and
  • Chairman’s expenses £35.

Insurance

The Council agreed to share insurance information with other Councils in order to attempt a reduction in premium.

Any Other Business

Cllr Harris agreed to raise at the Cluster meeting the possibility of grants for Diamond Jubilee commemorative gifts and the progress regarding affordable housing in the area.

The Clerk was asked to request the refilling of the existing salt bins.
